amarcord (della serie grandi soddisfazioni dal lato sbagliato della musica, o - waiting for music):

yes of course i had to take a day job. what do you really think i magically appeared in a tour bus or in a van with an instant audience. how do u think i survived after a tour of playing to 5 people every night?do u think it ended with me just sitting around hoping my dream would come true? if rollins and mckaye worked at haag n fucking daas during early DC hardcore days then what do u think i was doing. i worked telemarketing, and waited tables and worked at carwashes. the main thing that i did was wait tables. at carrows in el paso. its where i wrote most of my atdi lyrics for incasinoout
and luckily unlike my other jobs i didnt have to quit every time a tour came up. you have to work shit jobs to at least pay for gas and tons of shirts to screen yourself and food. i really wonder about you guys sometimes. i was a pretty damn good waiter too. i could handle an entire late night rush on my own after a de la joya fight while jugalling 2 20 tops,14 booths and 7 reg filled tables. i made fucking bank cuz the little pussy ass high school kids would always want to leave when it was dead. i would send them home write when it was dead then wait for the rush.
if u have to ask what is was like working a shit job in order to support a dream then you really need stop living with mom and dad and put your naive asses out there and work a shit job. THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY IS WHERE YOU GO TO GROW AND SHARPEN FANGS. YOU SHOULD TRY IT SOMETIME IT BUILDS CHARACTER AND IS A CRASH COURSE IN LIFE. i am well aware that there are heavier jobs to take but that is where a good live show can be born. especially when half the assholes u serve are little dickheads who go to shows and live with mom and dad and laugh at you behind your back while sing along to your music when you hit the stage.
. TIP YOUR FOOD INDUSTRY SERVANTS, THEY ARE PROBABLY GOING TO MEMBERS OF YOUR NEXT FAVORITE BAND

no i dont think tool play caveman music but their fans sure act like it. im not really interested in their music but i also have nothing but immense respect and admiration for what they do

CITAZIONE
no jab at radiohead, i dont exactly which can song they covered but they did. i love radiohead

actually credit should be given to people like primal scream, the make up, brian eno, and the edge for the resurgence of interest in all things krautrock. also lets not forget a little indie label that still exists called thrill jockey that houses bands like trans am who were the first to re introduce any of that influence well before 2001. the first 7 inches of the make up even have that can delay malcom mooney sound and radiohead was covering can during ok computer. and as far as tmv turning anyone onto it...that would be jeremy ward and omar turning on our fans.

I can't really go into Scientology details anymore on this page. I would love to but a lot of people on this page just can't have that kind of info about it because they are too stubborn to accept the reality of what it is. There is not enough tolerance in the average Volta fan base and if u disagree then I'm not speaking to you or about you. Let's just say your truth is your truth and mine is mine. I accept you and if u don't accept my beliefs well... Just don't lose any sleep over it

su Plague Upon Your Hissing:

CITAZIONE
Q: I know you have mentioned before how "A Plague Upon Your Hissing" should have never seen the light of day- I also understand that it is up to you all what stays and what goes. What about that song did you ultimately not like? Also the person who released the songs did so, I am assuming, without permission- any repercussions ?

A: it was just boring to me. and i knew it should be scrapt for parts. i knew that the lyrics and vocal delivery did not belong there for conceptual reasoning. it reminded me of some of that jesus lizard/ troubleman records stuff that i wanted to move away from. it was a cool song but i just felt with all due respect to every one involved, that we could do better. there were no repercussions for who ever leaked it, there should be. fines jail time etc. why? because its called intellectual property and only until you yourself start entering the trenches that involves song writing that puts food on your table ..will u ever really understand that. maybe u do? until then the anonymous free loaders of the internet will continue to think that music should be free, it hurts the engineers, the runners, the band(their families) and the independent labels when people leak or rip shit. (CBZ)
