| Zechs Marquise è un quintetto di El Paso in cui suona Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez (occasionalmente, visti gli impegni con i TMV, alle tastiere), assieme all'ennesimo Rodriguez-Lopez, Marfred (bassista, dovrebbe essere il terzo dei quattro fratelli R-L) e altri tre membri. Finora dovrebbero aver dato alle stampe solo l'ep 34:26 (un'improvvisazione di tal durata) e forse qualche altro brano (Pattern su tutti). I brani si possono ascoltare e comprare su Myspace ma ne approfitto, aprendo questa discussione, per segnalare che nel loro più recente bulletin su myspace hanno annunciato la pubblicazione di una versione speciale dell'ep 34:26 che includerà Pattern, limitata a 100 copie, disponibile a breve pagando con Paypal. Io lo prenderò di sicuro, mi piace il loro genere che fonde i TMV più latineggianti con certa psichedelia à la Acid Mothers Temple e qualche eco di certo kraut qui e là. Vale la pena dare loro un ascolto. Zechs Marquise formed in the fall of 2003 going by the name of Monolith, and they played their first show in spring of 2004. Since then the band has been creating a stir in their hometown of El Paso, TX. With their energetic and always evolving live performances the band brings the listener along with them on their journey. Utilizing the live elements of jazz improv, and applying them to rock, the listener is transposed from the audio aspects of music to the visual. As proclaimed by Crystal Robert, booker and promoter of The T-Lounge, “a fusion of senses resulting in a unique and psycadellic rock experience.”
Over the course of two years members Michael Farraro on drums, Marfred Rodriguez-Lopez on bass, and Matt Wilkson and Marcos Smith on guitar, have had the honor to play with band such as, The Album Leaf, The Roots of Orchis, Oh my God, Seneca, and Metaron/Art Lewis, just to name a few. They have recently been recording their first album under the guidance and helpful hand of two-time Grammy nominee Vavy Lozano at CPAM studios.
