EDIT DICEMBRE 2009: leggere direttamente qui: #entry367539119

_______________________________________________________________
Il sito č ancora in lavorazione, c'č solo l'homepage, ma nelle intenzioni dovrebbe diventare la risorsa definitiva per i bootleg dei TMV, ecco cosa scrive il suo creatore sul comatorio:

CITAZIONE
Hey guys, I decided to make a new thread for this (seeing as the old one is really big and pointless). This thing is NOT DEAD, and is very much alive. The domain I purchased has finally came through, so the next few days I am going to start migrating the code base over, and hopefully have something thats fully operational up. I still have work, and I still have life, so they're will be days when work wont be done, but this thing is close to being up, and when its up, you'll be blown away with some of the ideas Erik, Zaid, and I have come up with. So just remember:

THIS IS NOT DEAD, NOR WILL IT EVER DIE UNDER MY WATCH.

Also, PM me your email if you want to be notified when this thing is up.

www.themarbleshrine.com
~Matt

Speriamo bene, seguite la cosa. ;)

Record Notes: Recorded from stereo mics clipped to hat 6 ft. from the ground spaced 6 inches apart.
The show was recorded about 150 ft back from the center of stage in the audience.

Show Notes: The show rocked and luckily I was in the seats 15 feet behind the soundboard,
but the fans we definately a let down. No apparent energy from the masses. Blame that on the
Clear Channel sponsored event. I mean $10 for a beer and $25 bucks for a T-shirt, come on!
Anyway, the 22 minute Drunkship of Lanterns totally rocked and John was literally steaming!
I wish I could have been at the Catalyst show as well. Anyway the show was good and it
sounds fantastic, it was a good venue for recording despite everything else.

SQ is decent, although the noise floor is higher than i would have liked.

Rebroadcast by Triple J, on Aug 27, 2005.

complete broadcast, but unknown if this is the complete show...
Recorded, cut, FLAC'd & tracklisted by eclect - http://db.etree.org/eclect

=========================================================

This is the ninth set in the Impossible Music Festival, broadcast by JJJ over the weekend of August 26/27/28, 2005. (Its taken me long enough, but I finally finished cutting up/documenting the recordings!)

I've seen one or 2 torrented already, but I intend to torrent all I recorded (51 of 55 sets) over the next few weeks... at around a few per day, and expect people to keep seeding after i've moved onto the next one!

so do us all a favor - KEEP SEEDING! :D

If anyone recorded this years IMF, I challenge to match my offers, and torrent the whole weekend! :) (i'm no longer living in .au, so didnt get the chance to tape...)

ps - click the info link for the full IMF index...

show notes:
TMV opened for System of a Down here at Key Arena. This was the first time TMV played in Seattle since opening for A Perfect Circle in Tacoma last year. The crowd was definitely a pro-SOAD crowd but a good portion of 'em were won over by TMV's amazing set, and there were times I was impressed how silent the crowd was during some of the softer jamming sections of songs. There were some excellent jams and both Omar and Cedric sounded amazing tonight, and the rest of TMV were in top form. Too bad they skipped us on their headlining tour--hope they come back and give us a proper 2 hour set sometime soon.

recording notes:
I recorded this in the middle of the crowd, just right of center about 50-60 feet from the stage, and 30-40 feet under the PA stacks suspended above the stage. I hoped this location would give the best balance between the PA mix and the wall of Orange amps on stage, but I couldn't avoid the boominess of a big arena. Generally the crowd was good and quite interested in watching The Mars Volta. Oddly, a mosh pit broke out about halfway through their set and I got jostled around a bit, causing some dropouts in the right channel when someone bumped me. I attempted to cover these up using Cool Edit, but they're still noticable, though not nearly as harsh as they were before the edits. I also EQ-ed down some unwelcome loud talking and some impatient SOAD fans near the end of the show, but you can still hear 'em a bit. After this editing, I ran EQ and light compression in T-Racks to tame some of the bass heavy boom of Key Arena, then back to Cool Edit for tracking. Key Arena is a bad sounding venue, especially using omnis, but I think it sounds okay given my modest mics. P.S. To the guy I talked to in the Soundgarden shirt--I hope you liked the show and I hope you download this one too.

There is some brickwalling at first due to my levels being set too high - this was soon amended, and the variation in volume was levelled out during mastering. There are a few other patches of distortion throughout the show due to some minor mic issues, but none of this is a major problem.

This is the first two-disc show I've ever mastered without placing fades between discs, for the simple reason that I think this show works better without.

Thanks to Per for the mic loan!

**A portion of Cassandra was not recorded due to saving files and restarting recording. Sorry.

Record Notes: Recorded from stereo mics clipped to hat 6 ft. from the ground spaced 6 inches apart.
The show was recorded about 120 ft back from just left of the center stage in the audience. My iRiver
record level was set to 2 and my volume input level on my battery box at 50%.

Show Notes: This was the best TMV show I have ever seen. From beginning to end there were no
letdowns. They started off at sunset with no opener. The Fistfull anthem rand lound and clear.
The crowd roared and Mars rocked into a killer Drunkship. From there it was glorious. The
background screen was a nice treat for the eyes with the two men with covered heads. Cygnus and
L'via were incredible especially the solo juggling with John Frusciante
The lights were surreal and made the whole stage seem as if it were floating. Another treat
was the fantastic saxiphonist/flutist adding to the mix and the introduction of Paul Hinojos
on the programmer/sound effects who kept it flowin between songs. It's hard to put into words,
the recording will hopefully fill you in. Anyway the show was amazing and it
sounds fantastic, it was a good venue for recording and I hope you enjoy it!
