| "The Dregtones was a band from El Paso, Texas led by Cedric Bixler-Zavala(vocals/drums), Ralph Jasso(guitar) and Jimmy Hernandez(bass). The line-up changed multiple times with Julio Venegas playing bass for a long duration while Hernandez was off at music school in New Orleans. Other members include Luis Prieto (Percussion), Brooks Miller(Trumpet), Adam Young (Drums), and Andrew McCoi (Drums). In 1994 they released a demo recorded at Rosewood Studios by Mike Majors(Produced Sparta) titled Five Song Alibi. Songs include: In Route Through Bermuda, Squat Town, Shit Shoveled, Bimbalaties, and This is Traffic Control. The style is very much in line with what lead singer Cedric Bixler is doing currently with The Mars Volta, psychadelic rock influence, hints of salsa, reggae, occasional Led Zepplin guitar riffs, with punk rock at its core through and through. The cover and insert art was also drawn by Bixler whcih features a six armed serpent women with a third eye and long ugly hair. Other demos were released but are not available to the author."
