il disco dei FMA non è di rap in senso stretto, ha atmosfere molto rilassate, con quel effetto spesso "acquoso" delle tastiere, la voce di Mendee è tenue e delicata e gli inserti rappati di J sono pochi ma funzionali, secondo me è un disco da ascoltare e che va davvero bene come sottofondo (il che non è un difetto, anzi) per qualsiasi occasione, considerando che la gran parte mi sembra strumentale. Più che altro, mi sembra ci siano un bel pò di sampler, quella si caratteristica hip hop.

Strano che tu non abbia ascoltato i DF, Meko: eppure Megaton Shotblast credo sia un disco molto indicato per immaginare te all'ascolto con aria beata e canna fra le labbra!

we are currently in the middle of recording our second full length record (and the first w/ the new line up/sound). it will be called "the honey in the carcas of the lion" and hopefully will be out sometime this year on gsl.

i've just posted the first single from the record on our myspace page. "sound at sea" will be available for download for about the next 2 weeks. please check it out.

a scatola chiusa sul primo LP, Everybody's favourite weapon. Un disco dalle atmosfere morbide, distensive, con quel piano spesso con effetto "acquoso" con Gem From A Broken Rock vertice assoluto del disco: il piano la fa da padrone e la voce di Mendee Ichikawa tenera e sensuale (sarà il giapponesismo comune ma mi ricorda Kazu Makino). In un paio di brani pure un paio di sample di una versione live di Cut That City dei TMV (almeno così c'è scritto, io non li sento molto).

al secondo ho dato solo un paio di ascolti, pochi per giudicare ancora.

a parte questi Lp, han fatto un split con il rapper Subtitle che però non ho mai sentito, e il singolo della serie 7" x 12 della GSL con una cover di The Piano Has Been Drinking di Tom Waits, se non erro..

'Limited Release' record out next month!

Hey everyone,

Good news for you FMA fans. There will be a limited edition record coming out near the end of May that will feature various material recorded in the last six months. A few tracks are remixes from Mama's Gun Club and there will even be some unreleased and upcoming tunes for you. The record will be available in select stores in Southern California, in addition to online. The record will be entitled It takes a Village to Raise a Band. Some tracks will be available for your listening pleasure in the next few weeks and there will be a contest for copies of the record next month as well. Keep checking back for more information!
