The Volta considered a 10 minute epic for their first single from their forthcoming The Bedlam In Goliath, but instead they opted for this brief, proggy track because it is more radio friendly. Wax Simulacra bursts open with wild ascending guitars and Cedric Bixler Zavala's erratic soprano vocals - though there's no hook, no chorus just legions of unpredictable riffs. It hardly feels like a single but if this is the bands version of calm, we cant wait for the storm." |
