Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has been releasing experimental guitar music between tours and albums with his main gig since 2004. Since then, he's found time to collaborate with John Frusciante and Damo Suzuki (another, with Zach Hill, is on the way). Some of these instrumentals were released as the work of "the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Quintet", which includes members of the Mars Volta, while others just appeared under his own name. Gold Standard Laboratories is prepping his next full-length release, titled Se Dice Bisonte, No Bufalo.
This track, "Lurking About in a Cold Sweat", is mostly made up of textures: watery wah-wah pedal for one guitar, and a Leslie amp (or pedal simulating a Leslie amp) for a second, drier guitar line. Oscillations of bubbly noise suddenly give way to harsher bursts, enforcing the nervousness implied by its title. la traccia in download, però, non è quella citata, probabilmente si saranno confusi.
